An Incident to share....really sad one.

I went to Kaniyakumari for this Christmas vacation. After having breakfast in the hotel, i was walking along the market. One guy followed me and asked for me that Do i need Tiger Nails ? (puli Nagam) Usually people used to put in the ornamental Gold chain. He seems to like tribal man (looking somewhat like Narikoravan), he told that he had got it from forest near Mudumalai and Bandipur (Near ooty). On curiosity , I asked to show the same. He showed the two Nails attached to the Paws and the long string(might be some muscle tendons) was there. By seeing the Nail size and color of the paws, it could be tiger. he mentioned its price is about Rs2000.

I am not sure whether it could be real Tiger's one or some other wild animal. I feel very bad about that because Tiger is one of prestigious and Fascinating animal for India. Because of the some Hippocratic people, all the animals were killed. I had read about the Tibet , China and Japan were having huge market for Tiger's products.Every time newspaper flashes news of poachers arrested. I couldn't imagine, how many were killed. if this happens like this, In future we can Tigers only in Book.

Everyone in world, Please considerate about the Wildlife..!!

(First of all..it's illegal to have or buy a puli nagam.u may even go to jail doing it.)

Almost 99.99% (if not 100)of the time it's never puli's nagam,, it will be some dogs nagam.
Once a person got me a nagam from sabarimala telling that it's real, he payed 500rs about 12 yers back, on close inspection it was found to be a fake nail carefully cut out from some animals horn, most probably from some buffelo horn. And to make it look real a gauze bandage was also wrapped around it with blood stains in it, unless u look carefully u never know.
and mostly they give some dog's nail and tell u it's tigers nail... most probably some stray dog's nail... lols....
